Like the Sunday Funnies? Then you’re in luck. As of yesterday The Charlie Chan Sunday Comics are back!

Are you tired of Mary Worth‘s lethargic pace? Is The Born Loser starting to bore you? Does Doonsbury get under your skin? Then you’re in luck! Because yesterday, October 31st, began another three and one-half years romp through The Charlie Chan Sunday Comics (no trick, just treat!)

On October 30, 1938, a Sunday comic strip featuring Charlie Chan made its debut in newspapers across the United States and Canada. Drawn by noted New York Artist Alfred Andriola, the series lasted nearly four years, ending on May 31, 1942. Now Rush Glick, Charlie Chan Family Home Webmaster, offers these nostalgic vintage comics once again every Sunday! Rush tells us this about the collection:

“Although our collection of original Charlie Chan Sunday Comics is extensive and continues to inch toward completeness when possible, there are occasional “holes,” sometimes several in succession, that are filled with reproductions. When this becomes necessary, this fact is noted following that comic’s original release date.”

These uncensored comics, are shown exactly as they were released in a time before political correctness was the norm. Yet you will be hard pressed to find anything overly sensitive! That’s because Charlie Chan was on the side of truth and justice, making these comic strips just as enjoyable today as when first released in the 1930’s and ’40s.

So don’t be shy! Bookmark the page below so you can return again and again, every Sunday for the next 3.5 years, and enjoy the mystery and suspense each week of the The Charlie Chan Sunday Comics!
